Manchester United icon Ryan Giggs toasted Salford City on Tuesday night, after the club owned by the Class of 92 secured promotion to the seventh tier of English football.

The club weren't in action on Tuesday evening, but were promoted by virtue of Darlington's draw with FA Cup giant killers Warrington Town.

Giggs was pictured celebrating with the players, while Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt also have shares in the club.

Coincidentally, the club sit top of the tree with 92 points. The last trophy Giggs won was the Premier League under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Salford City have been promoted into the Evo-Stik Northern Premier, from which FC United of Manchester were also promoted on Tuesday evening.

The club's victory over Stourbridge sealed their promotion to the Conference North, 10 years after they were formed in protest to the takeover of Manchester United by Malcolm Glazer.

FC United are now two promotions away from the football league, and a potential Capital One Cup tie against the Old Trafford giants.
