Ryan Giggs admits he would love Leroy Sane at Man Utd

MANCHESTER UNITED legend Ryan Giggs says it is unfortunate Leroy Sane plays for Manchester City and not his former side.

Sane has had a stunning start to this season, scoring eight goals in all competitions for Manchester City.

The German has been a regular on the left-hand side for Pep Guardiola and has helped City to an unbeaten start in the Premier League after 11 games this term.

Giggs occupied a similar position to Sane in his playing days and has paid tribute to his recent form.

But he admits he would rather see him on the red side of Manchester.

“Yeah, unfortunately he’s the wrong end of the city,” Giggs said of the Manchester City man on ITV.

“This season, wow, it seems like he’s got everything this season.

“If you lose the ball deep, he can carry the team up the pitch.

“He picks the right cross and he’s scoring goals.

“He’s ticking every box when it comes to playing in the wide areas.”

Giggs was speaking ahead of England’s friendly with Germany at Wembley tonight.

Sane started for Joachim Loew’s side against a very young England XI, which included three debutants.

Manchester United's Phil Jones and City's John Stones played alongside each other at the back.
