Rene Meulensteen: Ryan Giggs WILL manage Manchester United in the future

Giggs is assistant to current boss Louis van Gaal and had a brief stint in caretaker charge towards the end of last season.

And Meulensteen, who coached with Giggs for many years when he was a player, has backed the club legend to one day take the big job on a full-time basis.

Meulensteen said: "I am delighted that Ryan is still there, I think it was also a great experience for him to have the team for the last four-five games of last season, to get a taste of it.
“Is he good enough to manage United? Yes, without a shadow of a doubt” - Rene Meulensteen
"I hope in the future Ryan is given the chance to manage Manchester United.

"Is he good enough to manage United? Yes, without a shadow of a doubt."

"He has something that any other Manchester United [manager] never had.

"He has grown with the club, he knows exactly how things worked here for many years.

"And he has still the identity that Manchester United stand for.

"He will learn a lot from Louis van Gaal and his staff in the next few years and it will only set him in good stead."
