Giggs' top Gunners

Ryan Giggs has faced Arsenal more often than any other team in his 21-year career as a Manchester United player.

The Welshman’s 47 appearances against the Gunners, across five different competitions, have yielded many great victories for the Reds – in games including the FA Cup (1999, 2004) and Champions League (2009) semi-finals. But it’s a measure of a true Manchester United legend when, before he can bask in such glories, he recalls the encounters where Arsenal had the upper hand – and metaphorically kicks himself.

Thierry Henry looks to Giggs' example

Thierry Henry has vowed to emulate Ryan Giggs as he prepares to make his Arsenal comeback.

Henry, 34, completed a two-month loan deal on Friday and warned Arsenal supporters not to expect the same player that left the Gunners for Barcelona in 2007.

Giggs second in the all-time Nuts greats

DISCERNING readers of Nuts, which trumpets itself as the UK’s most popular men’s magazine, have voted Ryan Giggs second in their top 20 all-time players in the Premier League.

Welsh veteran Giggs, now 37, is one of only six current footballers included in the list voted on by 30,000 fans, aged 16-30, asked to name those who made the most impact on the league since 1992.

The results provide a clear indication that the stars of yesteryear provide more inspiration than the current crop.
