Wales stars can play in Olympics

Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey will play for Team GB in the London Olympics - and with the blessing of the FA of Wales.

Four Wales stars are set to go for gold this summer, with Swansea left-back Neil Taylor also being selected alongside Spurs' Bale and Arsenal's Ramsey and Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs under close scrutiny as one of the three over-23 players in the Team GB Olympic squad.

With a national team on the rise and a Swansea side entertaining the Premier League, Wales has had plenty to feel proud of recently.

Premier League : Arsenal 1-0 Manchester United

United slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Arsenal, setting up a virtual title decider with Chelsea next Sunday at Old Trafford.

Aaron Ramsey, who chose to join the North Londoners ahead of the Reds, scored the only goal of the game to inflict a fourth defeat of the Barclays Premier League campaign on the leaders.

Greatest Wales XI revealed

GARY SPEED doesn’t need to give a team talk this week.

Instead, just before he sends his side out to take on odds-on favourites England at a sold-out Millennium Stadium on Saturday, he should just read out this team.

Southall, Sherwood, England, Ratcliffe, Bale, Bellamy, Ramsey, Allchurch, Giggs, Charles, Rush.

Some of the greatest players to have graced the game – and every single one of them at their proudest in the red of Wales.

Giggs: England beware of Wales next generation

Ryan Giggs has warned England to beware Welsh young guns Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey.

The Manchester United veteran will be at the Millennium Stadium next week to watch the 2012 Euro qualifier. He can’t wait.

Giggs said: “This is a new era for Wales and I’m really excited about it because there is some real quality in the squad. A lot of players have come through at the same time – Ramsey, Bale and there are top players beneath them too.

Wales not one-man team with Aaron Ramsey

GARY Speed is determined to avoid the Ryan Giggs syndrome for returning starlet Aaron Ramsey as he looks to get Wales back to winning ways.

The new Welsh boss will meet Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger this week to discuss the best way to utilise Rambo in his team as he plans the youngster’s international comeback.

But, while Speed wants to see Ramsey shine in the red of Wales, he warned he doesn’t want him to become a solo superstar in his starting XI.
