Giggs tells Martial: Now do it for 90 minutes!

Ryan Giggs believes Anthony Martial has lots of promise at Manchester United he just needs to maintain his consistency over a 90 minute period.

The France international has started United's first two league games of the season, scoring in both, and is looking to improve on his tally of 10 league goals last season.

And Giggs believes the 23-year-old has what it takes to go to the next level if he can remain consistent with his performances.

“I've worked with him and he can do it," Giggs told Premier League Productions.

“He is strong, and he can hold up the ball, proper centre-forward play. Balls into the channel, chesting it down, holding it up and laying it off and getting in the box, I think there's a lot of promise there.

“He has to do it now for 90 minutes. If I was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer watching that, I'd be very pleased with his overall performance.”

Giggs: Martial has shown promise up front

Martial scored United's only goal in the 1-1 draw against Wolves at Molineux on Monday night and the Wales manager was impressed with the skill shown by the attacker.

"It was a great goal," Giggs said. “Of course you look at goals, what could you have done better defensively, but you've just got to look at the goal and think: 'Well done, great strike.' There's not many players that can do that.”

United's next game is at home to Crystal Palace and given Solskjaer has played the same players in both opening games it is likely the France international will be given more game time at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
